I missed it yesterday… Whoops. The hubs is off for a few days for vacation and we’ve been out and about having a lovely “stay-cation.” We’ve only been in South Florida about 2 years, so we still have sights to see! We started off going to Vizcaya Gardens. It was beautiful.
Anyway… here we go, Five Minute Friday on the word Dive.
~~~
I don’t like to dive into things. I prefer a grraaaddduuualll approach. Make a list, ease on in… little by little, piece by piece. But the problem is, sometimes that’s just not as effective as jumping in, getting it done, letting yourself be consumed. But it can be messy that way. It might not look good on paper. You might lose a little control. But most of the time, any of that control is imaginary, anyway, an invisible string we hold onto, Linus’ blue blanket. I think of my sweet, 4-month-old daughter. I had 9 months to prepare, furnish a nursery, gather supplies… but let’s face it, you can read all the books you want, but having a baby is diving in like no other. And it’s beautiful and messy and amazing and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Sometimes, there’s nothing like giving your whole self to something, all at once.
Hi Sarah
What I have found with raising your babies, is the moment you dive into this role of mother, all the baby books dive out of the window! Glad to meet you at FMF!
Blessings
