Let’s be honest, it’s more like Five Minute Saturday around these parts. ;-) In case you’re wondering what this is all about, here are the rules:
1. Write for 5 minutes flat – no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
2. Link back at http://www.lisajobaker.com and invite others to join in.
3. And then absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments.
Tuesday. Work tomorrow for the first time in almost 5 months. Making a list, checking it twice. And again. And again. And again. Bottles, two kinds of bibs, one tablespoon of rice cereal mixed with breastmilk, her “favorite” toy. Diapers and diapers and diapers. Bags and bags and bags of frozen breastmilk. My daughter will not go hungry, that’s for sure. Cute little owl lunchbox for what is starting to feel like both of our first days at “school.” Can’t forget the Sleep Sheep or she may never sleep again. Binders, lesson plans, curriculum, CD-R with our songs for the week, ice breaker games that aren’t too cheesy for my high schoolers, songs that aren’t too complicated for my preschoolers, and in between activities for everyone in between. PBJ made for breakfast, turkey and hummus for lunch, granola bar for a snack. Breast pump… oh, the breast pump and all its accessories. Bottles, bottle stoppers, those rings that are there for who-knows-what, extra lunch box, extra ice packs… did my husband get the fridge out of storage yet? Nursing cover for comfort, pumping bra so I can at least itch my nose and maybe check my email. Did the sub enter the grades for report cards?
Bags all packed. Lunches all made. Lesson plans all written. Outfits laid out. Ready or not, I’m ready.
And then the thought occurs to me… I have to do this all again for Friday, too?!
